The Energy Officer/Energy auditor

Legislators are requiring more and more that companies improve energy efficiency and introduce energy management systems. This is particularly true of the Act Concerning the Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive, adopted on 6 March 2015. It requires all companies that no longer count as SMEs (small or medium-sized enterprises), to appoint an energy management officer by the end of 2015 and to carry out an energy audit, or to commence introducing an environmental or energy management system. In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises that want to take advantage of the energy tax surplus settlement have been obliged to appoint an energy management officer since 2013.

The seminar is aimed at companies that want to appoint an energy management officer or an energy auditor, and enables employees to take measures to improve energy efficiency or to perform an energy audit.

Target group:
Employees with responsibility for energy, technology, or facility management, who have been appointed as energy officers or who will perform energy audits. Please note: for the implementation of energy audits according to DIN EN 16247-1, the following is required in addition to the seminar: University or technical college degree in one of the relevant disciplines, or qualification as a state-certified technician in one of the relevant disciplines or qualification as a master craftsperson, as well as a minimum of three years’ full-time work as a commercial energy consultant.

Aim:
The aim of the seminar is to enable the participants to create important foundations for a more efficient use of energy, and to carry out energy audits. In addition, there is also a focus on the procedure for the realization of potential cost savings for various main energy consumers.

Content of the seminar:

    • Energy procurement (e.g. design of energy procurement contracts, analysis of energy bills)
    • Data collection and financial controlling; use of automated data acquisition systems
    • Procedure for energy optimization in buildings
    • Economic evaluation of measures
    • Subsidies available for efficiency measures
    • Participation of employees in the energy management system
    • Planning and structuring of the energy audit process

Energy efficiency measures (lighting, compressed air, heating equipment, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning equipment, cooling, electrical drives)

The first day of the two-day seminar starts with the basics: What information is contained in the energy bill? How do I analyse the real load profile? How do I recognize anomalies? What data do I need for an energy audit? What are the main consumers in operation? You will receive practical tips on how to prepare an energy analysis in the company and how to perform a first calculation for cost-cutting measures.

The second day informs you about the most important cross-sector technologies, such as ventilation/air conditioning, heating, lighting, or compressed air, and provides a wide range of practical tips for energy savings. Because of the many years of Arqum’s experience in consulting with companies, many tried-and-tested practical examples for energy efficiency within companies will be identified. The necessary steps for an energy audit are identified and examples are presented for the report to be generated.

Costs:
Participation in this two-day seminar costs 760 euros per person plus VAT. The costs include catering during the event.
