After the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) approved the funding, the starting signal for the PartnerAfrica project within the framework of the special initiative for training and employment was given on 15 November 2021. Together with the Association of Entrepreneurs Baden-Württemberg e.V. (UBW), the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Arqum is pursuing the goal of supporting Ghanaian industrial companies in improving their sustainability and competitiveness through targeted training programmes.
Ghana has developed into a politically stable, economically prosperous country in recent decades. However, the economic changes are accompanied by increasing environmental damage. With regard to further economic progress, the sustainable use of resources and necessary adaptations to climate change, the industrial sector in Ghana in particular – as in all countries of our world – must change.
Within the framework of the project, innovative education and training offers on the topic of environment and sustainability will be developed for industrial companies and their employees as well as students. These are to be included in the range of courses offered by KNUST as well as in the service portfolio of the AGI. In addition, a direct effect is to be achieved through the direct implementation of measures within the framework of this further education.
Together with the UBW and supported by Sequa gGmbH, Arqum was already involved in the project development and will significantly support the project over the next three years.
